Job Description:

JOB TITLE:Account Manager - Medical & Medicare Support



JOB TYPE:FLSA Non-Exempt



SUMMARY:Provide marketing and administrative support to benefit advisors handling clients with individual medical and Medicare products.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Support the Account Executive in managing client relationships.

  • Deliver quality customer service to existing and new clients, as well as prospects.

  • Run and prepare quotes/illustrations for individual medical and Medicare plans.

  • Prepare documentation for client presentations, including reviews, report compilation, duplication, and distribution.

  • Maintain files for compliance and audits related to medical and Medicare products.

  • Provide and audit client applications for individual medical and Medicare coverage.

  • Manage applications during the underwriting process and request required medical records.

  • Communicate status updates to clients during the application and underwriting process.

  • Market applications for more favorable ratings when appropriate.

  • Perform general administrative duties, including database maintenance, exam scheduling, photocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing.

  • Provide IT backup when necessary.

  • Assist with commission inquiries related to individual medical and Medicare products.

  • Coordinate with brokers to implement client renewals and outreach programs for medical and Medicare plans.

  • Serve as a liaison and compliance officer for medical insurance products.

  • Undertake additional projects and special presentations as required.


REQUIREMENTS:



  • Education: College Degree Preferred.

  • 1+ years of experience in the insurance industry, particularly in medical and Medicare support.

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and possess basic word processing and spreadsheet computer skills.

  • Demonstrated cooperation and effective communication with clients, vendors, and co-workers.

  • Ability to service clients effectively through problem-solving, confidentiality, diplomacy, sensitivity, and tactfulness.

  • Operational knowledge of various Windows-based application programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and current Internet technologies.

  • Willingness to work overtime when necessary due to the cyclical nature of the business.
