Description: Industry leading food manufacturer in the Omaha, NE area is seeking a Production Supervisor over their 3rd shift. This person is responsible for overseeing daily production operations within their assigned area. This includes supervising production staff, monitoring equipment performance, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food manufacturing and a proven track record of successfully leading and motivating teams.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of production personnel, including assigning tasks, providing training, and conducting performance evaluations.
Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and adherence to established procedures and GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).
Maintain accurate production records, including output, downtime, and material usage.
Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
Enforce all safety regulations and procedures, promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations, including HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) and other relevant standards.
Collaborate with other departments, such as quality control, maintenance, and planning, to ensure smooth production flow.
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods within assigned area.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
Communicate effectively with production team members, management, and other stakeholders.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Food Science, Engineering, Business) preferred.
Strong knowledge of food processing techniques, equipment, and safety regulations.
Familiarity with GMPs, HACCP, and other food safety standards.
Proven ability to lead and motivate production teams.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) a plus.
