Description: Our client is currently seeking a Manager - LENDING COMPLIANCE ADVISORY SERVICES

Status: Exempt



Reports To: Senior Manager - Compliance Advisory Services Department: Compliance



Location: Hybrid role, 3 days per week onsite at HQ in Sacramento, CA.



Compensation: Full-time position with a base salary range of $122K-$140K.



General Description: The Lending Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance of the organization's credit lending practices with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. This role involves collaborating with various departments to develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures that foster a culture of compliance across the organization.


Operating as a Second Line of Defense (2LOD), this role supports the Compliance organization while providing oversight for First Line of Defense (1LOD) functions where applicable. Key Responsibilities:

Supervise, manage, and mentor team members as needed.

Foster a positive work environment by promoting engagement and cultivating a culture of continuous improvement through skill development and career planning.

Provide proactive lending compliance guidance to business units (1LOD) and offer oversight to 2LOD Compliance staff.

Support the Director of Compliance Advisory Services in developing, implementing, and maintaining lending compliance programs.

Actively participate in annual and ongoing risk assessment campaigns, serving as a Subject Matter Expert to provide effective checks and challenges to 1LOD teams.

Create, revise, and maintain policies, procedures, and internal controls to align with current regulations and industry best practices, ensuring their effective communication and implementation across the organization.

Develop and deliver lending compliance training to ensure adherence to applicable regulations.

Assist in responding to consumer complaints.

Contribute to the preparation of compliance reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.

Stay informed of regulatory changes and industry trends to ensure compliance programs remain current.

Collaborate with 1LOD teams to understand core business activities, risks, products, and transactions.

Work closely with Managers across the Compliance department to maintain consistency in approaches to compliance matters and processes.

Act as a key point of contact for regulators during exams, audits, and other regulatory engagements.

Provide guidance and expertise on complex projects and initiatives.

Qualifications:



Education:

• Equivalent work experience or formal education.
  
  

Experience:

• 6+ years of experience in financial services, focusing on consumer protection regulatory compliance, internal/external auditing, financial services operations, or compliance program development and evaluation.
  
  


• 5+ years of supervisory experience within the financial services sector.
