Description: Our client is currently seeking a Police Dispatcher. This is a 3-month contract to hire opportunity and will be fully onsite in Fort Worth, TX.


Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Police Dispatcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching police units, and providing essential support to Breeze and THUC clinics. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to multitask, and proficiency in using various software and certification programs.


Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with Daily Job Duties/Tasks:

  • Provide coverage and support for Breeze and THUC clinics.
  
  
  • Coordinate with clinic staff to ensure smooth operations and timely response to incidents.
  
  
  • Maintain accurate records of all communications and dispatch activities.
  
  
  
  


• Emergency Call Handling:


• 
  
  
  
  • Receive and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls.
  
  
  • Dispatch police units to appropriate locations based on the nature of the call.
  
  
  • Monitor and track the status of dispatched units.
  
  
  
  


• Communication and Coordination:


• 
  
  
  
  • Communicate effectively with police officers, clinic staff, and other emergency personnel.
  
  
  • Relay critical information accurately and promptly.
  
  
  • Maintain a calm and professional demeanor in high-stress situations.
  
  
  
  


• Software and Certification:


• 
  
  
  
  • Utilize Lenel Access software for security and access control management.
  
  
  • Ensure compliance with Basic Telecommunicator, EMD, TLETS or TCOLE certification requirements.
  
  
  • Stay updated on new technologies and procedures related to dispatch operations.
  
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in public safety or related field is a plus.


• Basic Telecommunicator, EMD, TCOLE, or TLETS certification required.


• Proficiency in using Lenel Access software.


• Excellent communication and multitasking skills.


• Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.


• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.


• Previous experience in a dispatch or emergency response role is preferred.
