Amsted Rail in Chicago, Illinois is seeking a Finance Intern for the summer. This position will be focused on helping the Shared services and corporate accounting department with various tasks over the summer. This position will give the opportunity to work with not only those two teams but with several other important people and functions including plant controllers and the CFO of Amsted Rail. Through the summer, the intern will gain invaluable experiences with the basics of accounting but also seeing how SOX testing works for a large manufacturing company and how these types of audits are performed. They will gain insight into several key areas such as Operations, Management reporting and Procurement. Also, the intern will get to work with several accounting software's that are used by almost every industry including SAP, Blackline, and Audit board.

What you will do:

• Annual Summer Sox testing with about 2-3 weeks of travel included


• Close week activities such as JE preparation, account reconciliation preparation, and report building for Director of Shared services and CFO


• Various projects from both Shared services and Corp accounting (policy updates, Chart of authority update, etc.,)

Requirements:

• Candidates must be in at least their second year of college, actively pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance

What we offer you:

• Summer interns generally start between $20.00 - $24.00


• Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, prior experience and year you graduate
