About the Role - The P&D Route Planning team is looking to add an engineer to the team! The position is open to entry level or current Engineer I or II candidates. This position will report to Danielle West in the Operation Technology Product Management organization. The role will directly support the continued development and implementation of the FRO and Global P&D systems.
AUTOMATION & SYSTEMS: Designs and supports specific material handling sortation systems, design specifications, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) system integration for manual sort facilities. Analyzes vendor supplied equipment and supports project installation and testing.
FACILITIES & MATERIAL HANDLING ENGINEERING: Designs and supports the development of sites, buildings, offices, material handling systems, and sortation equipment for manual sort facilities. Supports vendors on preventative maintenance efforts for material handling and manual and automated sortation equipment.
FACILITIES & MATERIAL HANDLING PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Plans, directs, controls, and implements engineering, construction, and start-up of FedEx Ground sortation facilities and material handling systems.
INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER & PROCESS: Provides analysis, reporting tools, and engineering support for FedEx Ground field operations to effectively control and/or justify operational costs.
OPERATIONS RESEARCH, PLANNING & ANALYSIS: Analyzes data to support the tactical and strategic development of long-term network design and capacity planning for current and future FXG facilities.
OPERATIONS TECHNOLOGY: Researches, designs, develops, deploys, and/or supports new and current technology solutions to improve performance and reduce operating costs with management guidance and support. Leads and participates on small cross-functional project teams responsible for implementing new technology.
FACILITIES & MATERIAL HANDLING PROCUREMENT ENGINEERING: Provides analysis, and engineering support on key material handling system commodities that requires specific technical knowledge to procure for FedEx Ground sortation facilities and material handling systems.
OPERATIONS TECHNOLOGY SECURITY ENGINEERING: Oversee security of all OT devices on the FedEx Ground Network. Interfaces with IT, InfoSec, and Network Services on all OT Security initiatives.
Essential Functions
Analyzes performance data within engineering. Utilizes engineering tools and software to analyze data and answers basic engineering questions.
Researches, analyzes, and effectively consolidates technical or engineering related information and presents for management review.
Prepares, with management guidance, accurate expenditure proposals and/or cost justification analysis.
Formulates and presents document research, progress, and results to team members and internal customers.
Applies project management fundamentals and concepts with management guidance. Develops progress reports, meeting minutes, and field communication memos for management review.
Participates in Control Self-Monitoring (CSM) and/or Business Control Self-Assessment (BCSA) process within area of responsibility.
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.
Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with all levels of management.
Presentation skills necessary to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions to groups and/or individuals.

Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical or quantitative degree (e.g. mathematics) required;
Minimum Experience
Two (2) years experience required in technical area.

This position can be domiciled anywhere in the United States. The ability to work remotely within the United States may be available based on business need

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
Pay: U.S. Pay Range: $4,358.59/month - $7,554.89/month
