Project Engineer at Kastle Systems designs, quotes, and supports the Project Management and Installation teams for electronic security system infrastructure that keeps Kastle System’s clients safe. This role works with the Project Management and Installation teams.
The Project Engineer provides technical and design support for project installations and works closely with Project Management and Installation teams to ensure design security solutions, including Access Control, Video Surveillance, and Visitor Management. Additional responsibilities include reviewing Project pricing and bill of materials are correct to meet the system scope and sequence of operations.
Responsibilities
Supports new Commercial and Multi Family installation projects by conducting site assessments, provide technical support to technicians, contractors and Project Manager to ensure installations are completed to Kastle System standards.
Interfaces with Kastle Project team members, General Contractors, Subcontractors and clients
Security product, equipment and services expert
Compile and present reports explaining project details to non-technical stakeholders
Monitor project progress, compliance with design specifications and safety standards
Prepare change order cost proposal documents, submittal documents, as-built packages and presentations
Compile and present reports explaining project details to non-technical stakeholders
Works cross-functionally with internal teams including EPL, Purchasing, Operations, and Client Services to ensure the clients expectations are met
Uses hands-on field experience to ensure that the systems designed, can be effectively installed, and maintained
Monitor project progress, compliance with design specifications and safety standards
Direct engineering activities, assign tasks and provide training and support
Create project schedules and adjust as needed to meet project deadlines
Maintain detailed documentation of all site engineering activities
Collaborate with management to align activities with desired business outcomes
Works under the direction of the Vice President of Program Management Mid-Atlantic region
Inspect facilities and analyze operational data
Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards
Compile estimates for technical and material requirements for project development
Determine and present estimates of operational costs
Evaluate operations and processes
Suggest process and technical design changes to improve performance and efficiency
Implement improvements to designs and processes
Test material and structural integrity
Research the environmental impact of projects
Incorporate eco-friendly and sustainable features into design plans
Create graphical representations of proposed solutions
Prepare proposal documents and presentations

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic engineering, construction, building, or related field is preferred
3+ years of security systems experience in areas of physical security system administration, installation/service, design, vendor management, or security project management
Experience in design of access control, video/CCTV, and front office visitor management systems
Proficient in ACAD, Bluebeam, REVU computer aided engineering software
Project Management experience specific to the security or electrical industry
Skills and experience with installing, managing, programming, and troubleshooting: web-based access control systems, video management systems, IP cameras, NVRs, visitor management systems, and physical security system components (i.e. electric locks, badge readers, intrusion sensors, etc.)
Experience reading and responding to Security Scope Specifications, construction drawings, door hardware and submittal packages.
