Summary: In support of the TRADOC G-2 Engagement Directorate, the Data Analysis Technician is primarily responsible for inspecting, cleansing, transforming, and modeling data to discover useful information, draw conclusions, and support decision-making. It involves applying various techniques and tools to extract meaningful insights from raw data, helping in understanding patterns, trends, and relationships within a data. It is an G2 organizational imperative that we ensure that relevant knowledge is easily attainable and can be incredibly valuable for an organization, as saving time for outcome-focused tasks and decision making, while utilizing M365 apps and tools such as Copilot and SharePoint in conjunction with teams

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct descriptive analysis that describes or summarizes raw data to understand what has happened in the past. For example, analyzing higher headquarters taskings, requests for information, and requests for support for the past year.
  • Provide diagnostic analysis to determine why something happened by comparing different data sets. For instance, finding out why G2 digital production has dropped in a particular month
  • Conduct predictive analysis that uses statistical models and forecasting techniques to predict future outcomes based on past data. For example, forecasting the next quarter's travel in support of TRADOC G2 mission tasks
  • Provide prescriptive analysis that suggests actions to benefit from predictions, using tools like machine learning and artificial intelligence. For example, recommending the best strategic communications strategies to increase future G2 engagements.
  • Using MS 365 tools, applications, and visualization methods, develop and maintain the data analysis process to include:
  • Define Objectives and Questions: Clearly define the goals of the analysis and the specific questions you aim to answer.
  • Data Collection: Gather relevant data from various sources, ensuring data integrity, quality, and completeness.
  • Data Cleaning and Preprocessing: Address missing values, handle outliers, and transform the data into a usable format.
  • Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA): Conduct exploratory analysis to understand the characteristics of the data, visualize distributions, identify patterns, and calculate summary statistics.
  • Provide Statistical Analysis or Modeling: Apply appropriate statistical methods or modeling techniques to answer the defined questions.
  • Interpretation and Communication: Interpret the results in the context of the original objectives and communicate findings through reports, visualizations, or presentations

Preferred Experience

  • MS 365 user who is comfortable with using advanced features in MS Office 365 to meet TRADOC G2 business and technical requirements
  • Promote knowledge sharing between content owners/users through an organization’s operational processes and systems
  • Provide recommendations on data structures and databases that ensure correct and quality production of reports/management information
  • Knowledge of data classification standards and methodologies based on sensitivity and other risk factors

Background Requirements

  • Must be eligible for SECRET clearance
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Extensive experience with technical writing and editing
