Your new company HAYS Recruitment is currently partnered with a leading energy engineering firm dedicated to creating customized, comprehensive energy strategies for buildings. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Energy Engineer who designs, develops, and evaluates energy conservation measures in multifamily and commercial buildings by using and expanding their understanding of building HVAC, domestic hot water, process loads, lighting, and envelope systems. Your new role
Perform energy efficiency analyses for ASHRAE Level I, II, and III, and Local Law 87 energy audits and retro-commissioning
Perform feasibility, energy savings, and cost-benefit financial analysis for complex projects
Support the hiring and training of the energy audit team to ensure appropriate resources are in place.
Leverage potential rebate, financial, and loan initiatives to support project implementation
Test and retro-commission building systems to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local laws (i.e., Local Law 87)
Support team members in conducting energy efficiency analysis, manage and communicate workflow, and provide day-to-day guidance by serving as point person for respective team as needed.
Utilize energy and audit experience to generate ideas and analytical tools for ECMs
Communicate energy reduction plans and support in meetings with clients, such as management companies, building owners, and building staff
What you'll need to succeed
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related is required
Previous 5+ years of continuous experience in the energy sector
Advanced understanding of energy efficiency concepts, HVAC systems, and renewable energy systems
Expertise with various modeling techniques.
Completed or pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Multifamily Building Analyst (MFBA), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or equivalent
Certified as OSHA-10 prior to or within 6 months of employment
Travel primarily within New York City
Self-motivation, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Excel software required
