Job Description/Responsibilities

The Assistant Director of Experiential Education will work in a collaborative role with the Director of Experiential Education to plan, organize and maintain experiential education rotations for pharmacy students. In addition, this faculty member will participate in other faculty duties commensurate with their training and experience (e.g. class coordination, lecturer, service, scholarship).
• Assume primary responsibility for the Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) coursework (including syllabus, site matching, assessment), and assuring student compliance with pre-rotation requirements)
• Lead development and presentation of preceptor and site development programs, involving other faculty
• Serve as a course coordinator and/or skills instructor/lecturer, as appropriate with practice expertise
• Participate in School of Pharmacy or SIUE service projects
• Pursue research and/or scholarly interests
• Assist the director with marketing experiential education programs to pharmacy practitioners and identifying practice sites that provide diverse experiences that are above average in quality
• Assist the director in meeting and ideally exceeding all ACPE requirements for experiential education
• Serve on College and University committees, including chairing the Experiential Education Committee

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants for this position must possess the Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm.D.) from an accredited U.S. school/college of pharmacy. The individual must also have an active pharmacy license in the State of Illinois or be eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois. Applicants must have practice experience and have a proven and• consistent record of precepting pharmacy students at an advanced level. Experience with administration or project management is preferred.
