Position Summary

Brief Description of PSU/School/Dept The OHSU-PSU School of Public Health (SPH) is a joint school across Portland State University (PSU) and Oregon Health & Sciences University. Position Summary The Ignite Program Coordinator builds, implements, and sustains an effective Ignite Program. This full-time position is housed within the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health. The Ignite Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing and helping to evaluate the effectiveness of IGNITE programming at PSU. The role will leverage opportunities, both internally and externally, and guide this work to best support historically marginalized pre-health undergraduates on their educational and career pathways.

In accordance with the AAUP collective bargaining agreement this position is open only to current PSU AAUP academic professionals. Article 17 Section 11 refers.

Minimum Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience● Awareness of common institutional barriers to college entry and success for student populations historically excluded from higher education and health fields● Excellent oral and written communication skills● Ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse populations● Ability to build and maintain relationships with partner organizations● Ability to manage and coordinate events● Strong interpersonal and organizational skills● Proficiency with standard office software such as MS Office and Google Suite applications

Preferred Qualifications
● Experience working with college students● 3+ years of relevant experience● Experience collaborating with or supporting historically marginalized populations● Bachelor’s degree in a STEM, education, or relevant field● Experience in new program development, coordination, strategic planning, and procedure development● Knowledge of and/or willingness to learn about Indigenous ecological and cultural knowledge and partner to respectfully apply this framework to STEM student programming

Work Days/Hours Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week, schedule to be determined
Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement Salary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity.

The starting annual salary for this position will be between $57,060 and $59,256, but may be negotiated above this range dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
