Online Adjunct Faculty-Mathematics Course Development Spartanburg Methodist college invites application for part-time adjunct faculty positions in Mathematics. The successful candidate will design and possibly teach online courses, which may include explorations in mathematics, introductory statistics, principles of algebra, accelerated precalculus, or any other math course designated by the math department in accordance with the online policies of SMC online. Specifically, the courses mentioned will need a course designer as they will be offered for the first time in the fall of 2025 or spring 2026 through SMC's online programs. Teaching contracts may be renewed on a semester-by-semester basis pending enrollment, instructor availability, and student success.The successful candidate will:
Hold a PhD in a mathematics field or a MS with 18 graduate hours in the discipline.
Possess strong communication skills.
Have experience designing online math courses.
Have some online teaching experience.
Have experience with Course Management Systems such as Blackboard, Canvas, D2L.
Be firmly committed to high-quality instruction for first-generation college students and be familiar with best practices in active learning pedagogies.
Have demonstrable, successful experience as an online teacher (college level preferred).
