Position OverviewThe Ringle Conservation internship is specifically designed for one current KU student interested in pursuing a career in archives, special collections, collections care, or historic or artistic research. It will afford an opportunity to engage in hands-on work researching, organizing, describing, and preserving the Hannah Scott photography studio collection, consisting mainly of glass plate negatives, housed in the Kansas Collection of Kenneth Spencer Research Library.

Per the State of Kansas, student employees may hold concurrent appointments not to exceed maximum appointment and hours worked levels. However, concurrent student appointments must be of matching FLSA designation (exempt/salaried or non-exempt/hourly).Job Description80% - Inventory, lightly clean, and house glass plate negatives, working closely with the Head of Conservation, Head of Manuscripts Processing, and the Kansas Collection Curator.
15% - Conduct research on the subjects of the portraits in the collection, to gather more information as required.
5% - Write reports, blog posts, and other public-facing documents about the project.Required Qualifications
