Responsibilities:
Design, integrate, and test electro-optic hardware systems for tracked and wheeled military vehicles, supporting all phases of development from concept to field deployment.
Develop and integrate electrical and electro-optic hardware for military vehicle systems, including sights, vision systems, sensors, and circuit card assemblies (CCAs).
Perform circuit design, component selection, and analysis for commercial and military electro-optical system components.
Support design verification testing (DVT), prototype builds, qualification testing, and field deployment.
Conduct system and component-level testing and evaluation in an Electro-Optics Lab.
Develop hardware and software requirement documents and test plans.
Troubleshoot, debug, and support redesign activities to resolve system performance issues.
Track and document design changes, revisions, and debugging status throughout the development process.
Present design concepts and program status updates to management and stakeholders.
Provide on-site support at supplier and government facilities (up to 5% travel).
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred) with 3+ years of relevant experience.
Proficiency in engineering development and test tools.
Knowledge of digital and analog circuit design, gyroscopes, encoders, and camera systems.
Experience with IPC and MIL standards.
Hands-on experience with test equipment, including power supplies, oscilloscopes, function generators, and DACs.
Familiarity with motion control models (PWM, PID, model-based motion control loops).
Experience with schematic development, circuit simulation, PCB layout, and component selection.
Expertise in microprocessor-based product development, including chipsets, memory, and bus interfaces (PCI-express, DDR2/3, USB, SATA, etc.).
Understanding of EMI/EMC design practices and standards.
Experience with industry interface standards and form factors (VITA42/46, COM Express, ETX).
Familiarity with serial communication protocols (USB, CAN, RS422/485).
Programming experience in C, C#, and Visual Studio Suite.
Experience with optical hardware and testing.
