The Mortgage Lending team assists Northwest Federal Credit Union in living out our vision to be the lifetime financial partner for our member-owners. To achieve this goal, our team must deliver the highest quality service to internal and external members. The role of a Mortgage Junior Processor is to ensure the timely and accurate disclosures of first mortgage and equity loans. A key component of service to our external members is to assist loan officers and loan processors with the application, disclosure and loan approval process. Additionally, Mortgage Junior Processors work in partnership with teams across the organization to deliver on projects that improve visibility into the member experience.
Responsibilities
Serves as the point of contact with members at the front desk in the Mortgage Department lobby
Import, review and set up new online applications
Electronically create, review and issue applicable disclosures within required time frames
Request required documentation, upload received items to the appropriate loan files and make applicable changes to the data referenced in the loan application when needed
Submit requests for credit reports, credit report supplements, mortgage insurance, flood certifications, appraisal inspections, title work and other necessary documentation as needed
Complete Verification of Employment, Rent and Mortgages
Submit requests for tax transcripts, PUD Insurance and Homeowners Insurance along with Verifications of Employment, Deposits and Mortgages
Submit loan data to third party vendors to assist in completing final loan approval
Review loan files for completion and accuracy prior to assigning to a Loan Officer, Underwriter and/or Processor
Assist Processing team members to ensure all loans meet compliance requirements and are processed in a timely manner
Provide assistance to the Processing and Closing teams ensuring all 10 day items are complete
Monitors new applications received along with the 10 day queue to ensure each loan is disclosed and assigned and the queue is actively worked and remains caught up
Completes other duties as assigned
Convey information effectively to the members and remain responsive to requests for information
Meet production expectations as determined by the immediate supervisor
Ensure accuracy of disclosures and provide to members within specified regulatory compliance time-frames
Examines and analyzes supporting documentation and clarifies missing or questionable information
Working knowledge of NWFCU, Federal and State regulations required by the National Credit Union Association
Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies and procedures as well as regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent
Minimum 1 year of financial experience in a mortgage related field preferred
Ability to work flexible hours based on business needs: Monday - Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM; Saturdays - 2-3 each Quarter
Ability to work effectively on-site in our Herndon, VA headquarters and equally effectively remotely
Knowledge of Credit Union Policies and Procedures relating to mortgage operations
Knowledge of federal regulations and compliance issues such as RESPA, REG Z, HMDA, etc.
Basic knowledge of secondary market guidelines to include SAFE Act Licensing
Ability to use standard office and/or banking equipment and systems; working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Ability to maintain confidentiality
