Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT), provider of automated software testing, data analysis, and cybersecurity solutions for complex, mission-critical systems in the US Department of Defense (DOD), is seeking an IT Engineer to be based in our Arlington office.
Overview:
Innovative Defense Technologies is seeking a self-motivated IT Engineer to manage and maintain critical Windows Server environments, virtualization platforms, and cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate excels in security, automation, and cross-team collaboration in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities Include:
Interact with technical team members from multiple organizations in a collaborative team environment.
Provide direct technical support for the planning, design, and implementation of releases, upgrades, and changes to Windows servers, virtual environments, and cloud platforms.
Perform workload modeling, prediction, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure stable and efficient performance of IT systems.
Contribute to the improvement of administrative and operational processes through automation and optimization techniques.
Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Collaborate with network, security, and other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of infrastructure solutions.
Act as escalation point for any systems related issues.
Monitor system performance, applying regular updates, patches, and backups to maintain system stability and security.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or relevant field of Engineering
5 years of experience in a relevant technology field required
Required Skills:
Proficiency in managing and maintaining Windows Server environments.
Experience with VMware vSphere and vCenter.
Comprehensive knowledge of Windows domain management.
Familiarity with network security practices and protocols.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
Strong documentation skills for system configurations and processes.
Experience with Ansible, Powershell, Chef, Salt, Python, or Puppet experience is a plus
VMWare, Red Hat, and/or Cisco certifications highly encouraged
