Job Summary |
The Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment, Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (VDL) seeks a team leader for their Scientist II position. VDL develops and applies state-of-the-art diagnostic methodology to improve animal health and marketability, to protect the public health and to assist in the preservation of the human-animal bond through the principles of One Health. This position is a vital member of the team serving as the Serology Section Head, whose job it is to assure that serological testing is completed and reported to clients in an accurate and timely manner, while adhering to recognized medical laboratory safety practices. This allows the laboratory to fulfill its goal of providing a high quality of service to veterinarians, regulatory officials, agribusinesses, producers, and animal owners. This position also oversees compliance with safety policies and practices for all lab sections in accordance with UK Environmental Health & Safety guidelines and regulations. This position is located at the Coldstream Research Campus off Newtown Pike (great location and free parking). As a part of the University of Kentucky, we also offer exceptional benefits.
