Location/Division Specific Information:




As part of the Life Products Division (LPD), the Mebane, NC site focuses on producing a domestic supply of critically needed laboratory pipette tips, which are used in disease research and in high volumes for processing of diagnostic tests.



How Will You Make an Impact?:



The Lead Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for the planning and completion of the facility maintenance, including air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, mechanical, sanitary, plumbing, project work, and construction.



A Day in the Life:



  • Perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance on equipment throughout the facility

  • Maintain operation of the primary plant (chillers, dryers, compressors, cooling towers, HVAC, etc)

  • Follow established methods and standard operating procedures



Education:




High school diploma or equivalent required.



Experience:



  • Required: Minimum of 4 years of work experience in manufacturing, operations, production, lab setting or related field

  • Preferred: Maintenance to IMM and/or plastic industry equipment or equivalent.



Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:




  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Solid knowledge of mechanic, electronic, and robotics

  • Good knowledge of equipment and work tools (multimeter, meg ohmmeter, ammeter)

  • Problem solving & Analytical skills



Physical Requirements / Work Environment




  • Frequently lift 50 lbs and occasionally lift more than 50 lbs with assistance

  • Frequently stand or walk for extended periods of time and occasionally required to kneel, crouch, or crawl

  • Must be available to work overtime, including weekends to support department as necessary
