Manager of Performance Planning and Forecasting



PRIMARY FUNCTION: This role is responsible for all aspects of the agency's revenue, (i.e., commissions, partner programs, profit sharing and fees), other income, expenses, budgeting and forecasting, project reporting, and financial modeling/analysis.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Oversee all operations, key drivers of financial performance, revenue and expense sources for reporting, planning, forecasting and ensure a strong control environment over data accuracy and integrity.


  • Provide reporting to match the requirements, needs and frequency demanded by the business line, finance and senior leadership in support of the strategic direction, key business metrics, annual operating and budget plans, and forecast updates.


  • Collaborate with business unit/leadership to ensure the agency management system is continuously updated with accurate and complete data to meet the operational needs of the organization.


  • Coordinate with the business unit leaders, human resources, and payroll on all relevant functions of the business line in calculating and reviewing commissions and incentive compensation.


  • Collaborate closely with the financial analytics business unit/leadership in developing and refining data analytics supporting profitable revenue growth, retention improvement and cost reductions.


  • Collaborate closely with the finance business unit in due diligence, recommendation formation and implementation of approved acquisitions and entrepreneurial agency contracts and the subsequent monitoring of performance.


  • Collaborate with the business unit/leadership in planning, prioritizing, and implementing continuous process improvements.


  • Manage the requests of ad hoc operational reporting and auditing.


  • Lead the agency financial budgeting and mid-year balancing and provide monthly budget variance analysis.


  • Contributes to a positive team dynamic through respectful interactions, positive contributions, and active collaboration to achieve department and organizational goals.


  • Incorporates AAA's vision, mission and values in day-to-day activities and behaviors; guides and motivates others to remain committed to AAA's vision mission and values.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) in Business, Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.


  • 4+ years' experience in forecasting and business modeling.


  • 4+ years' in leadership or management role.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Master's Degree in Business (MBA)


  • 1+ years' experience in insurance.


  • Experience with insurance agency management systems.


  • Experience with data and BI tools, including Tableau.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:



  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.


  • Ability to guide, influence, and motivate others across the organization and externally.


  • Advanced knowledge and skill with financial modeling and business plan development.


  • Skilled in reading and using financial statements and providing effective financial reports.


  • Ability to handle confidential documents and information.


  • Ability to address multiple demands and competing priorities in a changing environment.


  • Skilled at mentoring, motivating, and guiding others toward individual and organization goals.


  • Skilled in handling urgent situations professionally and willing to take extra measures when solving problems.


  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing, including effective use of listening skills.


  • Ability to make timely and sound decisions, understanding the impact and implications and providing feedback on outcomes.



SALARY: The salary range for this role is $105,876 - $126,990 and is based on experience.



WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



  • Hybrid work from home and office required


  • The physical environment is typical of a standard office space. It requires the employee to work inside for the duration of work. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, sitting for more than 50% of the time. This position will require occasionally moving about inside the office to access equipment, cabinets, etc. May work around office equipment which could be noisy, such as copiers and fax machines.
