Position Description Summary:

RSi is looking to fill an Aircraft Mechanic II - Sheet Metal position in Fort Moore, GA, to support our Army customer. You will be part of a robust team working to maintain the aircraft used by the Army Ranger School. This role is full time, first shift (0700 - 1530), on our UH-60 Program. As an Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic specializing in UH-60 Helicopters you will layout, fabricate, assemble, repair and install sheet metal and composite parts, and interpret blueprints and technical data to ensure aircraft structural integrity and functionality. A Sheet Metal Mechanic should be able to:

  • Troubleshoot aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surface and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulics, engines, auxiliary power units, and ventilation/heating systems
  • Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units
  • Complete repairs using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills
  • Read and interpret manufacturers and airline’s maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components
  • Perform progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other hourly and/or calendar inspections
  • Perform other duties as assigned

This position is subject to pre-employment drug and alcohol testing as well as a pre-employment physical.


Required Minimum Education/Experience/Certifications:

A minimum of two (2) years’ experience with documented training (by validation of qualifying factors to include documented prior military experience and training) on the MDS H60 series systems.

Valid driver’s license required.

High school graduate or GED required.


Preferred Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/IT Skills/Certifications:

Experience as a 15G, Aircraft Structural Repairer

A current (valid) FAA A&P license

UH-60 knowledge of military publications, drawings, blueprints, microfilm, diagrams, and schematics

Completion of U.S. military tactical aircraft maintenance or U.S. military technical school

Four (4) years’ experience in maintenance, modification, and repair of tactical aircraft systems


Work Environment:

Aircraft areas/hangars, workshops, and other industrial settings.


Physical Requirements:

Required to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.

Frequently lifts parts and equipment up to 20 pounds.

Occasionally lifts objects up to 50 pounds.

Most heavy lifting is accomplished through the use of mechanical devices.


Other Essential Functions:

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, make rational decisions, and exercise good judgement.


Security Clearance Requirement: N/A

This position requires FAA/DOT preemployment drug testing.
