Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is actively seeking an experienced Accountant to join their team in California. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional looking to manage complex financial processes and support multiple entities with high attention to detail and efficiency. The Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance, and providing valuable insights through financial reporting.
Responsibilities
Duties
Responsible for general ledgers of four entities, including accounts receivable, daily cash recording, bank reconciliations, and review of coding for homeowner payables. Prepare month-end journals, escrow sales journals, and manage journals for land purchases and sales.
Complete month-end close processes and reconciliations, and prepare and distribute monthly financial statements to management for various entities.
Handle accounts payable check writing processing and manage the printing of forms for batching daily work.
Complete year-end close and reconciliations, and prepare all necessary documents for independent audits.
Prepare year-end packages for the Tax Manager to assist in preparing annual tax returns.
Supervise and work with the OCIP program, completing necessary reports per subcontractor.
Qualifications
Able to commit to 4 week assignment
Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Proficiency in relevant accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle high-pressure situations.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Work Hours
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

The salary range for this position is $37.00 to $40.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
