Our client, a respected boutique middle-market investment bank located in New York, is seeking a Software Technology Investment Banking Associate to join their dynamic and growing team. Key Responsibilities:
Deal Execution: Lead and support the execution of M&A, capital raising, and advisory transactions in the software and technology sectors. Responsibilities include financial modeling, drafting pitch materials, and preparing detailed presentations for clients.
Financial Analysis & Modeling: Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including financial modeling, valuation analysis (DCF, precedent transactions, and comparable company analysis), and industry research to produce strategic insights for clients.
Client Interaction: Take on a direct role with clients, managing relationships and ensuring the quality of work delivered. Present findings, strategic recommendations, and analysis in a clear, compelling manner.
Project Management: Oversee and manage transaction processes, ensuring all deadlines and objectives are met. Manage the day-to-day activities of analysts and junior team members to ensure high-quality execution.
Market Research & Industry Trends: Continuously monitor trends and developments in the software and technology sectors, providing insights and strategic recommendations to clients.
Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with senior bankers on new business development and cross-functional collaboration across other teams to achieve optimal deal execution.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of full-time investment banking experience, with no more than 6 years of relevant experience in total.
Technical Skills: Advanced financial modeling and analytical capabilities, with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Strong understanding of valuation techniques, including DCF, precedent transactions, and comparable company analysis.
Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable, understandable insights for clients and senior management.
Education: A Bachelor's degree from a top-tier university, preferably in finance, economics, or a related field.
Industry Expertise: Demonstrated knowledge and interest in the software and technology sectors, particularly SaaS, cloud computing, and other high-growth tech sub-sectors.
Preferred Experience:
Relevant Firms: Experience at prestigious software tech-focused firms such as DC Advisory, Vaquero, Peak Technology, Vista Point Advisors, Union Square Advisors, Arcadia, Morgan Partners, Lincoln International, Baird or similar is highly desirable.
Sector Focus: Prior deal experience in the software or technology industry, with knowledge of market dynamics, key players, and trends.
