Position Overview:
The company is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to join their team and oversee the organization's financial operations. This is a leadership role that involves managing accounting processes, driving key financial strategies, and ensuring regulatory compliance, specifically tailored to a banking environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the accounting department to ensure accurate financial reporting and efficient operations.
Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with all regulatory guidelines and accounting principles.
Analyze financial data and provide actionable insights to executive leadership to guide strategic decisions.
Manage the development, implementation, and monitoring of internal controls within the banking environment.
Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations, including FDIC, SEC, and other banking-related bodies.
Lead forecasting and budgeting processes to align with the organization's strategic goals.
Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory examiners during audits and reviews.
Evaluate and implement financial software tools to improve workflow and reporting efficiencies.
Provide mentorship and development opportunities for staff within the finance team.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification strongly preferred.
5+ years of accounting and finance experience, including leadership roles; banking sector experience required.
In-depth knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements specific to the banking industry.
Proven ability to manage teams, improve processes, and build strong cross-functional relationships.
Advanced Excel skills.
