As part of this high-profile development, we are seeking a Cost Manager with strong MEP experience to oversee cost control, budgeting, and financial planning for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within the project. The Role
As a Cost Manager (MEP Specialist), you will be responsible for ensuring accurate cost management, budgeting, and financial oversight of all MEP-related aspects of the project. You will collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to drive cost efficiencies and support value engineering efforts.
Key Responsibilities
???? Cost Control & Budgeting:
Develop and manage cost estimates for all MEP packages.
Monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial risks related to MEP systems.
Ensure accurate reporting and financial oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
???? Contractor & Vendor Management:
Evaluate, negotiate, and review contractor and subcontractor proposals for MEP work.
Assess cost compliance and financial feasibility of contractor submissions.
Work with procurement teams to ensure cost-effective sourcing of MEP materials.
???? Financial Reporting & Risk Management:
Prepare detailed cost reports and financial projections for project stakeholders.
Identify cost risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with financial governance and project cost control measures.
???? Collaboration & Value Engineering:
Work closely with design, engineering, and procurement teams to optimize MEP costs.
Identify and recommend cost-saving measures without compromising project quality.
Support contract negotiations and claims management from a cost perspective.
What We're Looking For
? Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
6+ years of experience in cost management, with a strong focus on MEP systems.
Proficiency in cost estimation software, Microsoft Office Suite, and financial modeling tools.
Strong knowledge of MEP systems and their impact on overall project costs.
? Preferred Skills:
Professional certification (e.g., RICS, CCP, or equivalent).
Experience working on large-scale industrial or commercial projects.
Knowledge of local building codes, MEP regulations, and industry standards.
? Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
