An established aerospace manufacturing organization is actively seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for their west Michigan manufacturing facility. Our client is the global leader in their space and have an outstanding culture predicated on compensation, benefits, and employee satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Lead Industrial and Process Improvement initiatives in an effort to improve plant KPI's
Participate in equipment specification, selection, layout and installation.
Maintain list of equipment suppliers. Identify new suppliers and verify capabilities
Support all departments within the manufacturing facility providing technical expertise and leadership.
Develops and establishes best manufacturing practices, standards, processes, procedures and assures their effective implementation and on-going review.
Evaluates equipment, operational sequences, and material flows to determine employee job functions and identify opportunities for automation
Work to improve product quality, reduce scrap, and improved machine uptime by implementing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related discipline
2-5+ years of engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
