LHH Recruitment Solutions - Engineering Technician (Contract) - Monroe, NC

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a skilled Engineering Technician for a contract role in Monroe, NC. This position plays a critical role in new product development, supporting engineering and production teams by building prototypes, conducting tests, troubleshooting issues, and analyzing results. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and experience with test equipment and technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Prototype Development & Testing
  • Build prototypes, ensuring best practices are applied.
  • Conduct design validation tests, analyze, and document results.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues encountered during testing.
  • Maintain and operate test equipment, including oscilloscopes and multimeters.
  • Travel to external labs to assist with test object preparation and oversight.

Engineering & Design Support
  • Collaborate with design engineers to provide input on designs and drawings.
  • Offer feedback based on assembly and test observations.
  • Participate in design reviews and suggest improvements.

Production Support
  • Develop work instructions for assembling new products.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide technical guidance.
  • Train production personnel on assembly and routine testing procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Engineering Technology or related field (preferred).
  • Product testing experience in a manufacturing or lab environment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with hands-on experience.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and material selection.
  • Experience operating test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
  • Drafting/Computer Modeling experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
