About Us:

Virginia Transformer Corp is a premier provider of custom-engineered power transformers, serving industrial and utility markets. We are seeking a Director of Customer Service & Field Services to lead our customer service, field service, project management, and key account service operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless transformer delivery, installation, issue resolution, and warranty management.

Position Summary:

The Director of Customer Service & Field Services will oversee the entire customer service and field operations lifecycle, project management of key accounts, ensuring successful transformer installations, and driving resolution of service-related issues. This position requires an industrial sales background with expertise in electrical or mechanical equipment in a B2B (business-to-business) environment.

This is a director-level position, but for an exceptional candidate, we are open to a higher-level leadership role within the organization. Relocation to Roanoke, VA is required, and a competitive relocation package will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage project management and field service teams, ensuring service excellence and execution milestones.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for key accounts, overseeing factory execution delivery, installation, and post-installation support.
  • Develop and implement service strategies, processes, and KPIs to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee warranty service , ensuring timely and effective handling of claims and post-installation issues.
  • Manage and optimize field service operations, including on-site troubleshooting, maintenance, and technical support.
  • Lead escalation management for high-priority customer service and technical issues.
  • Monitor service contracts, warranties, and maintenance agreements, ensuring compliance with customer expectations and contractual obligations.
  • Travel as needed to customer sites for installations, service escalations, and key account relationship management.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • 10+ years of experience in field service business P & L management and project management related to electrical or mechanical industrial equipment.
  • Industrial sales experience with electrical or mechanical products is required.
  • Strong B2B (Business-to-Business) background; B2C experience is not applicable.
  • Proven track record in leading teams, improving processes, and driving customer satisfaction.
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to relocate to Roanoke, VA (relocation assistance provided).
