Category Manager, MRO (Maintenance, Repairs, and Operations)

Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Category Manager to lead our global MRO category. In this pivotal role, you will oversee supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and implement cost-effective sourcing strategies that drive significant value to the organization. Your expertise will be key in achieving cost savings and optimizing supply chain processes across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing Leadership: Oversee the end-to-end execution of MRO sourcing programs, policies, and strategies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering and functional leaders to design and implement category strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Supplier Negotiation & Management: Lead supplier negotiations and manage complex relationships to support portfolio strategies and ensure long-term partnerships.
Market Analysis: Conduct global market assessments, providing insights and actionable recommendations on supply trends and market dynamics.
Cost Optimization: Drive cost savings through data-driven spend analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Process Implementation: Establish best-in-class decision-making frameworks, including Preferred Supplier programs and Global Long-Term Agreements (LTAs).
Financial Collaboration: Work with finance teams to manage and enhance working capital, ensuring alignment with financial objectives.
Issue Resolution: Serve as a key problem solver for stakeholder and vendor concerns, building trust and maintaining business continuity.
Required Qualifications
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, or industrial management; an MBA is preferred.
Experience: 5+ years of demonstrated success in MRO categories, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
Expertise: Proven track record in strategic sourcing and team leadership; APICS certification is a plus.
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to conduct in-depth analyses, identify opportunities, and drive productivity improvements across complex organizations.
Strategic Thinking: Exceptional ability to think conceptually and analytically, with a focus on assessing problems and delivering timely solutions.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with Oracle ERP systems is an advantage.
