Job Summary:

The Drafter will be responsible for developing equipment layouts and designing electrical systems for large-scale utility infrastructure projects. This role involves creating comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs) and construction drawings while ensuring coordination with construction crews, clients, and internal/external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of power distribution systems and best practices in electrical design, along with proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and AS8 (Asset Suite 8).

Job Duties:
  • Develop equipment layouts and design electrical systems for large-scale utility infrastructure projects.
  • Create comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs) and construction drawings.
  • Manage project timelines and ensure smooth coordination with construction crews, clients, and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Possess a deep understanding of power distribution systems and best practices in electrical design.
  • Research design challenges, propose solutions, and craft detailed recommendations.
  • Utilize AutoCAD, MicroStation, and AS8 (Asset Suite 8) to produce high-quality electrical design drawings.
  • Maintain clear and concise communication (written and oral) throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Hold a valid U.S. driver's license for potential site visits.

Qualifications:
  • Entry Level 1-3 years of experience
  • Mid Level 5+ years of experience
  • Telecomm experience is a plus or any utilities experience
  • Passion for CAD design with an Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills.
