Compensation: $19.49 per hour + Benefits

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Assistant Retail Store Manager to join our team in Long Beach, CA. This position assists the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and achieving sales and productivity goals. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with experience in retail operations and staff management. Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations & Sales Leadership:
  • Assist in managing daily store operations, including merchandising, production, and customer service.
  • Support the Store Manager in achieving sales targets by motivating and training staff.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service leadership.
  • Handle cash register operations and train staff on POS functions.
  • Accurately complete daily sales paperwork and report any discrepancies.

Supervisory & Team Development:
  • Support hiring, training, scheduling, and coaching of employees.
  • Assume management responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and performance evaluations to employees.
  • Assist with cross-training staff in all areas of store operations.

Customer Service & Store Maintenance:
  • Provide proactive and professional customer service.
  • Resolve customer issues and escalate concerns when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Report safety hazards and incidents to Asset Protection immediately.

Compliance & Reporting:
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, loss prevention practices, and cash handling procedures.
  • Prepare and manage store deposits in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Attend and actively participate in team meetings.
  • Follow up on assigned projects and ensure completion.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in retail, thrift, or consignment preferred.
  • Ability to lead and supervise a team in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word) and POS systems.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including evenings and weekends.
