Position Overview The Superintendent - Commercial will oversee and manage all aspects of commercial construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards while maintaining a safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily construction operations on-site and coordinate with subcontractors and team members.
Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring timely completion and adherence to deadlines.
Monitor project budgets and financials, ensuring cost control and effective budget management.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes, implementing safety protocols on-site.
Conduct quality control inspections to ensure work meets specifications and quality standards.
Lead and mentor construction teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure the best terms and pricing.
Manage site logistics, including material deliveries and site access for personnel.
Perform cost estimation and manage project scopes to align with budget expectations.
Address and resolve any on-site issues or conflicts that arise during construction operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction projects.
Strong understanding of project scheduling and budgeting processes.
Familiarity with safety compliance standards and building codes.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Demonstrated experience in contract negotiation and subcontractor management.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
Knowledge of regulatory compliance related to construction and building operations.
