Title: Project Manager - Material Planning

Key Accountabilities:



  • Provide project leadership and support for the global roll out of the spare parts Retail Inventory Management (RIM) tool program with emphasis on the Americas

  • Coordinate and optimize the implementation and performance of the RIM tool within the supply chain network and provide ongoing support for assigned locations

  • Support subsidiaries and distributors with initiating and maintaining supply chain process improvements as their primary contact for material planning

  • Coordinate the technology implementation and drive process improvements with IT providers and monitor their performance according to defined standards

  • Provide regular analysis of distributor's service parts planning parameters (stock levels/order quantities etc.) and identify irregularities and escalate to the appropriate stakeholders

  • Optimize planning parameters for material planning with the aim to continuously improve range of coverage and availability within the network

  • Develop and define annual distributor scorecards and designate target / KPI objectives to distributors

  • Provide operational monitoring of multi-level supply chain processes and reporting to the supply chain management on a quarterly basis and provide resolution strategies as identified

  • Support MTU planning team with demand planning and integration of the spare parts RIM tool

  • Implement and support global supply chain projects as required

  • Prepare reports to keep leadership aware of potential issues

  • Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct.

  • Perform special assignments as required




Basic Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Management or Procurement related field and 5 years of supplier, materials management or planning/scheduling experience; or 9 years of supplier, materials management or planning/scheduling experience

  • Willingness to travel including international travel - 10 to 20%




Preferred Qualifications:



  • Excellent organizational, planning, and follow-up skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time with competitive needs and deadlines

  • Excellent analytical and creative problem solving skills, when problems are complex

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a global organization, and at senior levels of distributors' organizations

  • Strong understanding of computer applications and/or controlled systems.

  • Strong understanding of modern inventory management principles

  • Strong ability to lead and guide cross functional project team(s)

  • SAP MRP or other MRP system experience

  • Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite

  • Willingness to travel including international travel - 10 to 20%

  • Familiar with plant operations/equipment and engine related components

  • Familiar with low volume supplier challenges

  • Knowledge of job-related product information

  • Working knowledge of PMBOK and/or PMP certification

  • SAP knowledge preferred
