Job Summary:
Essential Functions:
1. Assess mental health needs of clients; helps to meet those needs by providing counseling services and referrals to case management.
2. Able to establish rapport with youth and young adults ages 14-25, utilizing innovative therapeutic approaches.
3. Perform Crisis intervention techniques to ensure that youth are safe.
4. Implements Trauma Informed Care using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Single Session Brief Therapy, Mindfulness techniques and Art Therapy techniques to individual clients and group clients.
5. Develop Individual Treatment Plans for each client and regularly assess progress, providing updates to the Treatment Plan as goals change. Treatment plans will be updated every 90 days as per policy.
6. Manage projects as assigned.
7. Report any suspected abuse or neglect to the Program Director and all appropriate state and county enforcement agencies.
8. Meet all deadlines required by Program Director, Lead Clinician and state/federal partners.
9. Maintain own schedule for office visits and events.
10. Identify and maintain professional relationships with clients and community partners.
11. Attend and participate in staff meetings, in-service training and case consultations.
12. Prepare presentations and facilitate groups that address topics related to mental health awareness for community partners, sister programs, school, parents and youth. The purpose of these presentations is to educate individuals in the community on increasing intervention skills, what are victimization issues and the availability of victim resources and services.
13. Participate in RTH events, resource fairs and activities in the community as assigned.
14. Implement BCFS safety protocols including evacuating with youth and other staff in case of an emergency.
15. Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations.
16. Maintain BCFS HHS professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in the employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, the service population, and community members and complying with the required dress code, at all times.
Measurable Deliverables:
1. Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards that are applicable to this position.
2. Meet all service goals for year: provide counseling to 12 - 15 cases per semester.
3. Facilitate at least 10 hours of support groups per semester.
4. Meet with Lead clinician for 1 hour weekly as required by university.
5. Complete the following items in Salesforce at Intake: Client contact, CSD intake assessment; RTH contract intake, Interpretive summary, assess to determine client needs and develop a Treatment Plan with goals and objectives.
6. Upload documentation and enter required data into Salesforce within 72 hours of client contact, individual sessions or group sessions.
7. Submit monthly reports as specified by the Lead Clinician.
8. Obtain assessments of client's mental health needs and progression in the Individual Treatment Plan every 90 days.
9. Ensure that all program documentation required in the Clinical Tab in Salesforce, including information that is required for quarterly and monthly outcome measures reports, is accurate and ready for reports to be run by the 3rd working day of each month.
10. Complete all file audits follow up with 10 days of audit completion.
11. Compile, prepare, submit and maintain accurate records, files, forms and additional information in accordance with agency policies, licensing and/or contract requirements.
12. Demonstrate the ability to:
a. Respond sensitively and competently to the service population's cultural and
socio-economic characteristics.
b. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English.
c. Work in a fast-paced environment.
d. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the
position.
e. Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as
a member of a multidisciplinary team.
f. Travel as needed.
13. Other job duties as assigned per grant requirements.
Requirements:
1. Maintain certificates required for the position including but not limited to First Aid and CPR.
2. Valid Texas Driver's license with a clear driving record and reliable transportation.
3. Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens.
4. Provide proof or work eligibility status upon request.
5. Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background and motor vehicle check
(fingerprints needed if applicant has lived out of state within the past 5 years)
