Senior Manager, Tax - Indirect (Planning and Strategy)
Location: Bentonville, AR
In this role, you will create and implement indirect tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities, through proactively identifying potential risks and opportunities. To be effective in this role, you will need to clearly communicate and present these strategies to business stakeholders as well as senior leadership in the tax department.
About Indirect Tax at Walmart
The Indirect Tax Team plays a critical role in Walmart's ability to navigate the complex landscape of indirect taxation, ensuring compliance and maximizing profitability across the corporation. The complexity and scale of taxation at Walmart encompasses our ecommerce business, brick & mortar stores, other business ventures and beyond.
What you'll do:
Build strategic plans to minimize past, present, and future indirect tax liabilities.
Manage multiple projects and provide guidance and support to other indirect tax functions.
Collaborate with business partners throughout Walmart as you analyze business activities to determine indirect tax impacts.
Use data tools and tax technology to manipulate and review large-scale datasets and calculations to identify opportunities to optimize our tax strategies.
What you'll bring:
6-10 years of indirect tax experience that includes a mix of sales tax, use tax, product tax, excise tax, transaction tax, gross receipts tax, and tax technical concepts.
Advanced degree or certification (e.g. JD, LLM, Master's Degree, CPA, or CMI) related to Taxation.
Past roles in industry (retail and/or ecommerce) and/or consulting (Big 4).
Strong tax research and writing skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:
