Our client is seeking a Cloud Engineer (Google Cloud) in Atlanta, GA.


Role Description
We are seeking a Cloud Engineer specializing in Google Cloud to join our Network Operations Center (NOC). As a key technical expert, you will be responsible for troubleshooting complex cloud infrastructure issues, optimizing GCP environments, and ensuring seamless cloud operations for our clients. You will also contribute to automation, best practices, and knowledge sharing within the team.


• Manage and support multi-tenant Google Cloud environments for our clients, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
• Provide technical expertise for troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing Compute Engine, Kubernetes (GKE), Cloud Run, and other Google services.
• Ensure compliance with SLAs, maintaining uptime, resolving incidents promptly, and implementing proactive monitoring solutions.
• Automate cloud operations using Terraform, Python, and Bash scripting to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Implement security best practices for IAM, firewall policies, and networking within Google Cloud VPCs and hybrid cloud environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute cloud migrations, deployments, and performance tuning.
• Work closely with customers to understand cloud requirements, recommend best practices, and deliver high-quality solutions tailored to their needs.
• Participate in on-call rotations, ensuring timely resolution of critical incidents.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, best practices, and training materials for internal teams.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior engineers on Google Cloud best practices.


Skills & Requirements


• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as 4 years' experience in a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in cloud engineering, system administration, or DevOps roles.
• Strong expertise in Google Cloud, with hands-on experience managing and troubleshooting Compute Engine, IAM, Cloud Storage, VPC networking, and Kubernetes (GKE).
• Experience with Terraform, Python, or Bash scripting for cloud automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Strong understanding of Linux and Windows environments, including OS-level troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Google Cloud Operations Suite (Stackdriver).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps methodologies, and hybrid cloud architectures.
Preferred:
• Google Cloud certification (e.g., Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect).
• Experience in a multi-cloud environment (AWS, Azure).
