Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) announces an opportunity to work as a full-time, tenure-track faculty member as the Director of Student Accessibility Services and Learning Disability Specialist for LTCC's Student Accessibility Services department.
The mission of Student Accessibility Services (SAS) is to promote self-confidence in an educational environment while fostering student independence. LTCC's SAS is committed to establishing a positive learning environment focused on academic integrity, and sensitivity to our students, while creating a springboard for student success. In SAS, students with disabilities come first, and their individual needs are the focal point.
At LTCC, SAS students typically perform at the same level of the student body as a whole. This is achieved through the accessible, inclusive, and supportive environment led by the SAS Director. LTCC's SAS provides fair and consistent treatment, encourages independence and self-sufficiency, and recognizes and respects each student's unique challenges and strengths.
The full-time faculty position will fill the role of director of Student Accessibility Services and Learning Disability (LD) Specialist. This position is a 214-day contract over the period of 12 months, including summer and winter hours with evening and weekend responsibility. With this 50/50 split, the new director will provide LD testing and accommodations to students in SAS.
APPLICATION PROCESS:
After review, applicants judged most suitable for the position will be invited to initial interviews. These applicants will be notified by phone on or about Thursday, February 27, 2025. Initial interviews will be conducted by a committee of campus constituents and are tentatively scheduled for March 13 and 14, 2025.
Finalists will then be invited to a secondary process on April 2 and 3, 2025. Travel allowances and district-provided lodging will be provided to qualifying applicants. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee an interview.
LTCC reserves the right to return to the applicant pool at any point during the recruitment process.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Salary Range: LTCC offers a competitive compensation package that includes a starting placement salary of $79,406 to $99,491 annually for faculty who hold a master's degree or equivalent, dependent upon teaching and work experience, or starting placement salary of $95,836 to $115,922 annually for faculty who hold a doctoral degree, dependent upon teaching and work experience. Benefits: Health and Welfare benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and long term disability. These benefits also include full coverage of a gold-level medical plan which, on average, covers 80% of healthcare expenses for a standard population. LTCC also matches 19.1% of an eligible employee's salary and contributes it into a CalSTRS pension account for qualifying employees.
