Join our Rehab Medicine Clinic to work with world-renowned providers in the physiatry field. Be a part of our dedicated and passionate team focused on the treatment of all types of disabilities related to the brain, nerves, bones, and muscles. Our patient populations include spasticity, amputee, spinal cord injury, brain injury, concussion and more. In our clinic you will have the unique opportunity to gain hands on experience with safe patient transferring using a Hoyer machine and will be trained on mixing and drawing of neurotoxin medications. In addition to drawing up the medication, you will be able to work closely with the providers during procedures giving assistance were its needed. The team of nurses, medical assistants, and provider work closely together to give compassionate care within our clinic space. Job Summary:




A Medical Assistant is a healthcare professional and an essential member of the patient-centered healthcare team. This individual is responsible for pre-visit planning, standard rooming responsibilities, assisting with procedures, discharge instructions and other duties as assigned. The medical assistant is instrumental in helping the patient feel at ease while collaborating with the provider throughout the patient's visit. The medical assistant may be required to cross train and float as needed to maintain optimal clinic operations. Other duties as assigned.



EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:



One to two years of clinical experience is preferred.



EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:



High school diploma or equivalent required. In addition, individuals must meet one (1) of the following combinations of education and experience:


A.) A graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assistant Program (Associate, Diploma or Certificate).


B.) A graduate of a non CAAHEP or ABHES Medical Assistant program (Associate, diploma, or Certificate) or Military Medic/Corpsman training. In addition to education, one (1) year of formal on the job Medical Assistant experience preferred.


C.) Currently possess and are in good standing with at least one of the following credentials:


a.) Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)


b.) Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)


c.) Assessment Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABROE)


d.) CCMA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant.



LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:



American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire. Certification through the AAMA and/or an equal certification board or certification is preferred.
LPN Qualifications:
One to two years of related clinical experience is preferred. Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing is required. Current LPN licensure by the state of Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
