Meet The Team:
As the Software Systems Engineer Manager on our cutting-edge Autonomy Systems and Release (ASR) team, you will play a pivotal role in building and leading a world-class safety-focused software systems team. Your mission will be to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our Autonomy Apps by driving safety leadership, fostering collaboration, and delivering robust architectures aligned with regulatory, functional, and product requirements.
What You'll Do:
Build and Lead: Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of software systems engineers focused on safety leadership and compliance.
Systems and Safety Leadership: Conduct risk assessments, pioneer safe machine learning practices, and integrate software systems into safety frameworks
Develop and Deliver: Define software architectures, manage deployment budgets, and align technology roadmaps with product goals and industry standards
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with product teams, perception and vehicle intent engineers, and regulatory organizations to ensure seamless workflows and compliance.
Stakeholder Management: Spearhead strategies that bridge safety, systems engineering, and cross-team technical strategies, including Minimum Risk Maneuvers (MRM), health monitoring, and mission control frameworks
What You'll Need to Succeed:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field
8+ years of experience in software systems engineering, with 3+ years in a leadership or management role
Extensive experience in systems engineering, including requirements analysis, architecture design, and deployment budget management
Background in software development
Proficiency in software safety standards, including ISO 26262, ISO 21448, and/or other functional safety frameworks.
Expertise in conducting safety risk assessments and integrating safe machine learning practices
Strong understanding of robotics or autonomous system design and operation
Experience developing and maintaining technology roadmaps aligned with product goals
