Job Description As a Critical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at UM BWMC, you will be an integral part of a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing exceptional care to critically ill patients. You will collaborate with specialists across multiple disciplines, including anesthesiology, pulmonology, surgery, interventional radiology, interventional cardiology, neurology, nephrology, and oncology, to deliver seamless, patient-centered care.
About the Unit
Our state-of-the-art Critical Care unit is designed to optimize patient outcomes and includes:
42-bed closed ICU covering both IMC and ICU patients
In-house attending coverage 24 hours a day
14 required shifts per 4 weeks
Procedures: perform a range of critical care procedures, including intubation, central and arterial line placements, bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, chest tube insertions, paracentesis, and lumbar punctures.
Advanced technology, including continuous bedside monitoring, continuous renal replacement (CRRT), and intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP)
Large resuscitation rooms equipped for multi-provider, life-saving interventions

Qualifications
Master's degree with completion of an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant
Minimum 1 year of ICU experience as a Nurse Practitioner , Physician Assistant or completion of a hospital based APP residency
Maryland license, CDS, and DEA license required
Current BLS and ACLS certification (or obtained prior to providing direct patient care)
