Job Responsibilities:
Provide estimating services for various types of projects and contract formats, producing detailed estimates at different phases of design and construction.
Perform material and equipment takeoffs to determine project requirements.
Obtain vendor pricing and analyze cost data for accurate budget forecasting.
Assign labor factors based on established labor estimating manuals.
Consolidate labor and material estimates into a comprehensive summary proposal.
Develop project milestone schedules to ensure timely completion of work.
Read and interpret client-supplied bid documents to prepare accurate estimates.
Provide technical assistance in negotiating contracts, change orders, and related agreements.
Coordinate total estimating efforts for specific bids or projects.
Maintain files and working documents as backup for estimate figures, including current pricing from suppliers.
Track awarded contracts and manage estimating/pricing for extra work items, change orders, and credits.
Oversee procurement of materials and ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions.
Qualifications:
College degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience preferred.
Two to five years of industrial electrical estimating experience.
Proven ability to estimate electrical projects highly desired.
Working knowledge of estimating databases and software (MCAA, Accubid, etc.)
Ability to perform conceptualized estimates (schematic design, design development, and construction).
Ability to read blueprints/drawings.
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
