Position Details
Bluestone, P.C. has an immediate opportunity for a part-time, litigation attorney with 5+ years of quality business litigation, for its fast-paced, multi-faceted commercial litigation practice.
The ideal candidate is creative, works well both independently and collaboratively, has an entrepreneurial spirit, and is interested in financial fraud, fiduciary liability, asset tracing, and working on behalf of global financial institutions, defrauded investors, and others, in an exciting and developing area of law.
This is a great opportunity for an attorney with an entrepreneurial mindset, looking for a change of pace from a traditional law firm setting, without high minimum annual billing requirements, work schedule flexibility, and an opportunity to help the firm grow in Miami.
Qualifications
5+ years of quality business litigation practice and procedural experience;
Bar membership, or ability to be admitted, in New York, required; Bar membership in Florida a plus;
Experience in New York state and federal courts a plus;
Excellent legal research and writing skills;
Strong communication and organizational skills;
Deposition, hearing and trial experience are beneficial;
Knowledge of creditors' rights law, fraudulent conveyance actions, 1782 applications, multi-jurisdictional disputes, and enforcing judgments/arbitral awards preferred, but not required;
Knowledge and experience with bankruptcy law preferred, but not required;
Job Responsibilities
Researching and drafting briefs and other pleadings
Participating in all aspects of discovery
Interfacing with clients and opposing counsel
Managing out of state, local counsel
Participating in court hearings/oral argument
This Litigation Counsel position is part-time (approximately 20-30 hours per week), with the possibility of expanding to a full-time position.
