Job Description:

We are partnering with an exciting, pre-IPO biotech company in the Bay Area that is pioneering advancements in the Hemophilia cell-therapy space. As they enter a critical stage in their growth, they are seeking a VP of Finance to join their leadership team and help scale the company's financial operations.

Position Overview:

As the VP of Finance, you will play a key role in shaping the company's financial strategy and operations during this pivotal growth period. You will be responsible for leading the accounting and FP&A functions, providing financial insights to drive business decisions, and working closely with the executive team to prepare for the company's IPO. This is a hands-on leadership role with high visibility, requiring expertise in both accounting and financial planning and analysis, and experience in a pre-IPO biotech or pharma environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the accounting and FP&A teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis processes.
  • Partner with senior leadership to provide financial guidance and strategy to support the company's growth and operational objectives.
  • Prepare for the company's IPO, including managing financial audits, financial reporting requirements, and compliance with SEC regulations.
  • Develop and implement financial models to support decision-making in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment.
  • Work with external auditors, tax advisors, and legal teams to ensure compliance and reporting integrity.
  • Manage cash flow, capital structure, and investor relations as the company moves towards its IPO.

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in a biotech/pharma company, ideally in a pre-IPO environment.
  • Expertise in both accounting (GAAP, financial reporting) and FP&A (financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting).
  • Strong experience in IPO preparation and navigating the financial complexities of a biotech start-up.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with executive teams and provide strategic financial insights.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with a track record of building and managing high-performance teams.
  • A deep understanding of biotech/pharma financial metrics, especially in the context of cell therapy or rare diseases (a plus).

What We Offer:
  • Competitive salary and equity compensation package.
  • The opportunity to play a critical role in shaping the financial future of a high-potential biotech company.
  • An innovative, mission-driven environment with a passionate team dedicated to transforming patient outcomes in Hemophilia treatment.
