We are seeking a Financial Controller to lead our Finance organization. This leader, reporting directly to the CEO, will take responsibility for A/R, A/P, payroll, tax filings (federal, state, and employment related), producing and analyzing monthly and annual statements, and managing budgets and adjusting spend as our company grows.

About the Financial Controller position:
We seek an accomplished financial professional to lead our finance function as we scale. The successful candidate will "get in at the ground floor" to help us design, manufacture, and sell industry-changing commercial HVAC products. They must be comfortable taking ownership of the financial operations of a medium-sized and rapidly growing business. This position begins as an individual contributor reporting to the CEO with part-time support from an administrator and external consultants. We anticipate this growing to a small team of direct reports in the next 1-2 years. This is a hybrid position with a preference for on-site in our Anderson, SC location. Primary Responsibilities: • Overseeing accounting processes: payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable • Preparing and analyzing financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, & cash flow) • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards (GAAP) and regulatory requirements • Managing tax compliance including federal and state sales tax, property tax, and employment-related state and federal taxes • Financial forecasting to manage working capital and other debt and equity vehicles • Working with external auditors
Additional Responsibilities: • Managing risk and exposure including insurance strategy and execution • Forecasting and mitigating warranty exposure • Forecasting financial performance • Developing and supporting department budgets • Liaising with finance team members of our suppliers and customers
Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting • >5 years of work experience in finance and accounting • Proficiency in ERP systems; infor/ SyteLine experience strongly preferred • CPA strongly preferred • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent attention to detail • Demonstrated history of working independently, demonstrating ownership of projects, and attention to detail/ checking/ controlling quality and accuracy of their work • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with finance and accounting in a manufacturing business • Familiarity with the commercial HVAC business • Experience building and improving systems for financial operations • Demonstrated ability to lead a team • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
