The ideal candidate will be responsible to facilitate the design, analysis, and manufacture of rotating industrial machinery and ASME code-stamped pressure vessels for a wide range of customers at the forefront of today's process technologies. This role requires requires in-depth knowledge of ASME BPVC Section VIII Division 1, along with a demonstrated ability to produce ASME calculations and compliance documentation
Duties
Design and calculations of ASME code stamped pressure vessels
Design and analyses of industrial rotating equipment
Selection and verification of mechanical components including seals, bearings, motors, pumps, etc.
Implement GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles in design documentation for clear communication of specifications.
Collaborate with electrical engineers to integrate mechanical designs with Arduino-based systems for enhanced functionality.
Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices in mechanical design and analysis.
Experience working with SolidWorks PDM (Enterprise/Professional) in a multi-user environment or similar PLM/PDM system preferred
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 5-10 years of experience OR Master's degree with 5 years' experience
ASME BPVC Section VIII Division 1
Industrial machine design, dynamic or rotating equipment
Static and dynamic stress/deflection analysis from thermal, pressure, and other mechanical loading scenarios
Proficiency with ASME B31.3 Process Piping, design and analysis of piping layouts
Ability to efficiently interpret and generate engineering drawings and CAD models; familiarity with GD&T principles and drafting standards
Experience with ANSYS or other FEA programs, analysis of static structural/thermal models
Thorough understanding of pressure vessel design including welding, material selection and fabrication practice
