Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in MES implementation, support, or coordination.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, production processes, and shop floor systems.
  • Experience working with stakeholders, gathering business requirements, and managing vendor relationships.
  • Familiarity with SQL databases, PLCs, and ERP integrations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve MES issues promptly, sometimes outside regular business hours.

Position Overview

The MES Engineer is responsible for gathering requirements, coordinating system enhancements, providing support, and ensuring smooth MES updates and integrations. The MES Engineer will work closely with production teams to identify process improvement opportunities and collaborate with external vendors to implement solutions that align with business needs. This role may require night shifts or weekend availability to support a 24/7 manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement quality control methodologies to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards, guidelines, and procedures in each product's functionality.
  • Work with production, quality, IT, and engineering teams to gather MES-related requirements.
  • Document business and technical needs, ensuring clear communication with the MES vendor for system enhancements.
  • Coordinate MES updates, patches, and new feature rollouts with minimal impact on operations.
  • Manage system change requests and track implementation progress with the vendor.
  • Provide on-call support, troubleshooting MES-related issues and working with internal teams and the vendor to resolve them.
  • Develop training materials and provide guidance to end-users on MES functionality and updates.
  • Support manufacturing operations during night shifts or weekends as needed to ensure system availability and stability in a 24/7 production environment.

Compensation:

$70,000 to $95,000 per year annual salary.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
