This position is responsible for improving process controls reliability and ensuring continuous improvement of instrumentation and controls across various locations. The role involves responding to and resolving instrumentation and control issues, managing the development and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems, and ensuring consistency between locations while meeting corporate expectations and standards. The individual will also be tasked with developing instrumentation installation drawings, data sheets, and specifications in compliance with recognized industry and safety standards. Additionally, the role includes assisting in the technical development of assigned plant project P&IDs, developing I & E project schedules, and providing support for the procurement of instrument items. A significant responsibility will be managing the conversion of DCS from PROVOX to Delta V and other software upgrades, ensuring that plants have the right personnel and training to operate and maintain the company's instrumentation and control systems, and maintaining a high degree of reliability in all controls, instrumentation, and emission monitoring systems. The position also requires developing programs to prevent accidents and maintain safe working conditions, as well as responding to emergency downtime situations or problems as they arise.
Responsibilities
Manage the development and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems.
Ensure consistency between locations and meet corporate expectations and standards.
Develop instrumentation installation drawings, data sheets, and specifications in compliance with industry standards.
Develop technical tabulation to support the selection of instrumentation and control systems.
Assist in the technical development of assigned plant project P&IDs.
Assist in the development of I & E project schedules and manpower requirements.
Provide support for procurement of instrument items.
Manage conversion of DCS from PROVOX to Delta V and other software upgrades.
Ensure plants have the right people and training to operate and maintain instrumentation and control systems.
Maintain a high degree of reliability in all controls, instrumentation, and emission monitoring systems.
Develop programs to prevent accidents and maintain safe working conditions.
Respond during emergency downtime situations or when problems occur.
Requirements
Two year technical degree in Electrical Engineering or Technology.
Minimum of five years previous experience as an instrument and electrical technician or equivalent in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Proficient with Fisher-Rosemont's DeltaV and digital control systems.
