12+ Months of long-term contract with high possibility of extension
$45-$50 Hourly on W2.
Top requirements:
Siemens STAR-CCM+ or Convergent Science CONVERGE
Knowledge of engine system (such as piston, head, liner, valves, and intake and exhaust manifolds) and aftertreatment components (such as SCR systems, back pressure, and injectors)
Preferred, not required:
Experience with 1D simulation software such as GT-SUITE or Amesim and solid modeling software such as PTC Creo or BETA CAE Systems ANSA would be a bonus.
Typical task breakdown:
The position will participate in simulation planning with design and other simulation engineers. This may involve running simulations of the systems to predict performance. The position makes sure simulations are executed properly. The position will then analyze the data and create summary reports with results and recommendations. Much of the day will be spent using 3D CFD software (STARCCM+ or Converge), building physics-based models in addition to analyzing results. Time will also be spent attending team meetings and documenting and reporting results to clients.
Education & Experience Required:
PhD Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or MS degree with 3+ years of related work experience. The candidate must have performed fluid dynamics and thermal simulations as a part of their graduate studies or as part of a prior job in industry.
Top 3 Skills:
Engine combustion simulation experience
Experience using STAR-CCM+ or converge CFD software
