SANY America in our Peachtree, Georgia location is in search for a Technical Publication Engineer is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining technical documentation for heavy machinery products. This includes operator manuals, service manuals, maintenance guides, parts catalogs, and technical bulletins. The role involves collaborating with design, engineering, and service teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and clarity of technical content.
Key Responsibilities:
Documentation Development:
Create and maintain user manuals, service guides, and technical publications for heavy machinery.
Develop technical illustrations, exploded diagrams, and parts catalogs.
Ensure all documentation complies with industry regulations and safety standards.
Collaboration & Research:
Work closely with engineering, design, and service teams to understand machine functionality.
Gather technical data from CAD models, engineering drawings, and product specifications.
Conduct field visits to validate procedures and collect user feedback.
Content Management & Standardization:
Follow documentation standards such as ISO, SAE J2008, or manufacturer-specific guidelines.
Use structured authoring tools and content management systems (CMS) to manage publications.
Standardize technical terminology and ensure consistency across all documents.
Illustration & Media Integration:
Develop high-quality graphics, 3D illustrations, and animations to enhance technical documents.
Utilize CAD software and publishing tools to generate exploded views and interactive content.
Compliance & Quality Control:
Ensure that all technical documents meet legal, safety, and quality requirements.
Conduct document reviews and updates to maintain accuracy and relevancy.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Technical Communication, or a related field.
Experience:
8+ years of experience in technical documentation for heavy machinery, construction equipment, or industrial manufacturing.
Experience with content management systems (CMS) and structured authoring (DITA, XML) preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Adobe FrameMaker, InDesign, or other document authoring tools.
Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) for extracting technical data.
Knowledge of illustration tools like CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator, or IsoDraw.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
