Job Title: Data Engineering Manager

Location: West Coast Preferred (Flexible to travel to Palo Alto, CA as needed) - cadence wouldn't be weekly.

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineering Manager with expertise in DBT, Snowflake, and Looker. The successful candidate will oversee the review and enhancement of data transformation processes, ensure best coding practices, and validate the quality of data visualizations and reporting outputs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and assess code that transfers data from source systems, including Salesforce, using DBT.
  • Ensure seamless data landing in Snowflake and perform necessary transformations to meet specific reporting requirements.
  • Oversee the visualization of data in Looker-enabled reports/front-end.
  • Verify that code is written according to leading practices, appropriately documented, and flexible to handle additional data sources and future transformations.
  • Ensure the system can drive other reporting outputs.
  • Provide expertise and advice on DBT transformations, data inputs, and outputs.
  • Offer insightful comment on coding practices to ensure robust and scalable solutions.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and advancements, particularly in Snowflake and DBT.

Qualifications:
  • Strong Snowflake (application development) and Data Pipelining experience is required. Someone certified would be highly preferred.
  • Proven experience in data engineering, with a focus on DBT, Snowflake, and Looker.
  • Strong understanding of data integration, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
  • Excellent coding and review skills, with an eye for detail and adherence to best practices.
  • Experience in coding practices, documentation, and ensuring code is scalable and flexible.
  • Ability to provide actionable recommendations and improvements for data transformations and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
