Job Title: Mechanical Drafter
Location: Rapid City, South Dakota
Details: 12-month contract with ongoing need, opportunities for advancement, onsite position
Pay Rate: $19.00 - 22.95/hr.
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Drafting Specialist to join our team in the Black Hills. This role involves working with detailing work, sheet metal to fabrications, and could include working with cast or forged parts after manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have prior drafting experience and a background in manufacturing, with a focus on sheet metal forming, machining, fabrication welding, or assembly.
Responsibilities:
Provide detailing on sheet metal, cast, or forged part fabrications
Collaborate with two dedicated drafting teams to complete assigned projects.
Work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
Handle revisions based on feedback and ensure accuracy in all drafts.
Perform print reading and interpretation to support project requirements.
Fully onsite role in the Black Hills, working closely with local teams.
Years of Experience and Education:
Minimum of 2-3 years of related drafting experience is required. There is no maximum experience limit if the candidate does not have a degree.
Open to candidates with project-related experience.
Automotive experience is beneficial but not mandatory, provided the candidate has drafting or modeling experience.
Skills Required:
Proficiency in PTC Creo for modeling and drafting, or comparable software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Fusion, or Revit.
Strong technical skills in sheet metal forming, machining, fabrication welding, or assembly.
Ability to work with teams and independently on assigned projects.
Excellent print reading and interpretation skills.

This position is fully onsite in the Black Hills. We are looking for local candidates or those willing to relocate for this role.
